The last tooth extraction I survived was a traumatic experience. I went into the room with four wisdom teeth, and came out with a pile of bandages in my mouth, and enough medicine to put down a horse. Then, no one understands why I lost my wisdom...

Text Extractor Pro is like a dentist (though text ≠ tooth), but without the noisy little drills. This is an excellent scanner, from which you can extract texts in many languages, save, and share the documents in different platforms. Today it drops from $1.29 to FREE!

Along with binaural beats, natural sounds, and a relaxing voice, you can configure sessions from 5 to 60 minutes to help you slumber. My friend managed one of the most impossible tasks ever: she dragged me to a pilates class. Was I uncomfortable by the excessive amount of spandex around? Sure. Was I a little blown away by how great the class was? No doubt.

Inspired by that, I bring you Pilates Fondamental, which teaches you all the technique, and exercises needed to find balance, strengthen your core muscles, and for relaxation. These come in different HD videos (beware, it's a heavy app), and with a soundtrack for you to do the exercises alone. Today Pilates Fondamental drops from $6.49 to $1.29!

The doors of perception

I just read that Lewis Carroll had recurrent migraines and the accompanying visual distortion and changes in perception of objects could have inspired Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Bruce from Percepto must feel like he's Alice because, in this puzzle app, you change perspective and dimensions like there's no tomorrow. Drag, rotate and tap to try to find a way out of each room. Sounds simple, but it isn't. Featured as AppStore's iPhone Game of the Week, today Percepto drops from $4.19 to FREE!

Barcode

& QR codes

Oh no, this offer's expired...

Don't miss any more free apps! :

★ Requires iOS 7 ★

I envisage a time in the not too distant future when we'll all have a permanent barcode or QR code on our foreheads (OK, I admit, I watch too many sci-fi films) and it'll make dating a whole lot easier (or more challenging, depending on the way you look at it).

For the moment, Barcode (from the creators of ProCamera) only works on objects (and those with scannable tattoos). Despite the name, it's a barcode scanner AND QR code reader. The app scans the code automatically and brings up a choice of actions (add contact, call number, open in Maps, open URL…). Great for price comparisons and a whole host of other applications, Barcode normally costs $1.29 but today it's FREE!

[+] Safe Notes

Keep notes secret

Oh no, this offer's expired...

Don't miss any more free apps! :

★ Requires iOS 7 ★

I wish my life was like Safe Notes, where you can just lock some things away, and be certain that no one will ever find out. Unfortunately, when you're at a party with 30 other people, have a bit too much liquor, and decide to 'surfboart' in the middle of the room, it's a bit difficult to keep it secret.

Well, back on topic, with Safe Notes you can keep your private notes hidden from the prying eyes of others. It also allows synchronization with iCloud so you never lose anything. Today it drops from $2.59 to FREE, but keep it secret, huh?
